RISING ABOVE LIMITS
In
Genesis 2 v 26, God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness and
let them have dominion over the fish of the sea……..
And
in verse 28 God said ------ Replenish the Earth and subdue it and have dominion
over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living
thing that moveth upon the earth.
In
other words God vested unlimited power in man right from creation and because of
the above premise man is expected to have dominion over every work of creation
including the prevalent laws of nature especially when man invokes the power of
the tongue. Prov. 18:22
Essentially,
we are saying that the breath of God that was passed to man at the point of
creation has invested in him great potentials and abilities.
But
today, we are all witnesses to the fact that Christians are groaning under the
yoke of frustrations and failures.
The
Bible recorded in Genesis 3:19 that God said to Adam “In the sweat of thy face
shalt thou eat bread, -------------
This
explains why today man is surrounded by challenges and limitations in his quest
to survive. Subsequently man perennially faces a situation that constantly
places limitation on him in several areas of life.
As
Christians, we are expected to rise above these challenges and breakthrough its
limitations and the only weapon at our disposal is Faith.
Hebrews
8:39: - Now the just shall live by faith; but if any man draws back my soul
shall have no pleasure in him.
The
lack of faith had led to the downfall of many Christians both in time past and
in the contemporary times. The reason is because God said that without faith,
we cannot please him. For instance a brethren starts a project and does not
believe that it will work and he ends up failing, he is thinking of the financial
implication of the project and he ultimately abandons the project. At times a
little challenge can make a brethren chicken out of a great and lucrative
venture. It is important to point out that the challenges of the Christian life
in itself doesn’t connote limitations but our response determines whether we
will breakthrough or experience limitations. Limitations exist or can be said
to occur the moment we give up trying to overcome challenges.
In
1Samuel the Bible describes the followers of David as, hopeless, debtors and
the discouraged but David refused to allow these challenges to limit him and in
subsequent chapters these same men were called the “Mighty men of valour”.
In
Genesis, Abraham and his wife Sarah refused to allow physical challenges of old
age limit their chances of having their own child.
My
prayer to you today is that God will help us to rise above every challenge that
places limitations on our lives today in Jesus name.
If
you have experienced limitations in your job, ministry or your marriage, the
Lord will give you the grace to overcome today in Jesus name.
Finally
to rise beyond your limits in whatsoever area of your life today, you need to:

Increase the level of your faith by reading more the word of God, faith cometh
by reading the word of God.

Speak positively to your situations, there is power in the tongue Prov. 18:22
______ Visualize
yourself in places and positions that you dream about.

Sow a seed today for that miracle or
breakthrough that you have been praying
about.
Remember
no matter who you are or what you are passing through, you can rise above the
challenges of your situations and indeed break through your limitations, all
you have to do is to believe that with God all things are possible.
